We found Bjorn (cane corso) through a friend of mine who knew someone who needed to get rid of him but when we went to view him he was being kept outside in a shed on a lead. We got him at what they say 4 months old don’t know his exact birthday and he is now 7-8 months as vets reckon so. I took him for all his injections and micro chipping and he’s in healthy condition. Now, we’ve spent hours upon hours trying to train him, lots of toys and big bones, cuddles and affection, liquid to help calm dogs, walking with and without a muzzle etc. Bjorn isn’t keen on people or other dogs, he will just constantly bark at them. He pulls so much when he’s on the lead too and we’ve tried to correct and train and it’s just not working. He has got along with my other dog but he has started to snap at him. When we first got him he had free range of the kitchen for a few days to which we had to stop because he absolutely trashed the place, floor ripped up, wallpaper off, and smashed plates etc. We ended up getting a massive cage because we knew how big he would grow but also so he had plenty of space to move when we were at work. Few times he’s been absolutely fine but he’s also escaped maybe 7 times. Today was the final straw, he’s managed to get out again and not only get out but over the baby gate too and got into the living room. He’s smashed our tv, ripped up part of our sofa, smashed our pictures etc. We just cannot cope anymore. As much as it hurts me to get rid of him as he is so lovely and affectionate when he’s with me, we just cannot do it. I’m already so stressed and it’s just making it worse. He really needs someone who knows how to properly train him but still give him the love he deserves and someone who’s possibly at home more than we are. He’s a great dog when your around but when he’s left he doesn’t cope well. I don’t just want him going to anyone so will charge so I know you don’t just want him for stuffing or keeping in a garden but I wanted to try here before a rescue. Obviously will need to change over the microchip.
