Description

Lenny — 3½-year-old KC registered Welsh Terrier seeking a loving, experienced home Lenny is a gorgeous 3½-year-old Welsh Terrier neutered male looking for a special forever home where he can be someone’s devoted companion. We as the original breeders (as per our contract) and his owners are looking for a permanent & loving home for Lenny, as unfortunately he is not comfortable around his owner's newborn baby. He has had the same stable and loving home from 8 weeks old. It is gutting for both parties, as his owners are heartbroken & he was from our first litter that we ever bred. His mother (Bear) & his full litter sister (Maple) can be met at our home (breeder's home) in Cheshire. His mum is a Saredon dog who is really clever & friendly, she has appeared in commercials for ALDI, and more recently Northern Trains. His sister Maple has been our show dog. His dad was a show champion 'Welsh Draggon'. Both mum & dad have numerous champions in their bloodlines. He is an active, outdoors-loving dog who absolutely thrives at the beach and in the countryside — he can happily walk for hours exploring. Lenny loves chasing a ball, paddling in the sea, and has enjoyed many adventures with us in our Campervan. He walks well on the lead and only gets excited (and pulls a little!) when he knows he’s heading somewhere fun like the beach. Whilst he enjoys long walks, Lenny is just as happy playing fetch in the garden. What he truly loves most is human company — cuddles on the sofa, belly rubs, chin scratches, and simply being close to his people. He forms strong bonds and makes a wonderfully affectionate, loyal companion. Lenny has been reactive to other dogs on lead since being attacked as a puppy. This has been manageable for the owners, but he would be happiest as the only dog in the home. Since the arrival of their baby last year, he has also begun showing increasing reactivity towards her in the house. For this reason, we are seeking a calm, adult home with no other pets, where he can feel secure and relaxed. He would be absolutely fine with older children who would respect his space. His owners have put a lot of time into training him since a puppy. His reactivity was also modified successfully working with a professional behaviourist (who is also the breeder), where he was not reacting for a solid period of time prior to the arrival of the baby. Going forwards, as both as his breeder & behaviourist would be more than happy to support his progress virtually. As with consistency, it is achievable that he would be able to go back to this point. He is otherwise a healthy dog with no medical issues. Lenny is neutered, fully vaccinated, flea and worm treated, microchipped and has no special dietary requirements. He is good for the groomer and is currently handstripped, so he has a lovely wirey deep coloured coat. He is completely house-trained. He is also KC registered, which ownership would be transferred. Upon rehoming, you will also be added into a Facebook group where you can stay in touch and network with our other owners. A lifetime of support and advice is available from breeders. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for his owners, their priority is finding Lenny the right environment where he can thrive and receive the time, attention, and stability he deserves. In the right home, he will be an incredibly loving, loyal, and rewarding companion. Lenny is available to view at his current owners' home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne- which is a great opportunity to get to know him properly & meet his current owners. All potential owners will be vetted, and will be required to sign a rehoming contract with the breeders- as you will be required to keep in touch for the rest of his life. No time wasters and only serious enquiries welcome. A small re-homing fee is required to ensure commitment to Lenny.
