Location: Abergavenny
Sully is a handsome 18-month-old chocolate Labrador who is looking for a new experienced home.
He was rehomed by his previous family a month ago under the understanding that their child had developed allergies. Unfortunately, Sully now needs another home as his current owners feel they are not in a position to manage some behaviour challenges, particularly with another resident dog in the household and young family members visiting regularly.
Sully is, in many ways, a typical young Labrador - friendly, affectionate, bright and full of potential. He is fully vaccinated, in good health, and is currently intact.
However, Sully does show resource guarding behaviours, particularly around food and furniture. There have been incidents where he has bitten both current owners in these contexts. These behaviours are not constant or unpredictable, but they must be taken responsibly. With the right structure, clear boundaries, correct handling, these behaviours are manageable and can be improved, but they do require commitment and consistency.
Sully would be best suited to:
• An experienced, confident dog owner
• A home without young children
• Ideally a single-dog household
• Someone willing to continue structured behaviour work around resource guarding
