Sadly, I am looking to rehome my male Syrian hamster to ensure he can go to a home where he has the time, space and attention he deserves. He is around 8 months old and came to me at approximately 6–8 weeks old. He is a sweet boy who is handleable, although he can be quite skittish and generally prefers to have his own space. He will happily accept treats and the occasional gentle stroke once he is comfortable. He is not known to bite, although he has given me a few very tiny nibbles on occasion, so I would recommend someone who is patient and willing to let him settle in at his own pace. He is a late riser, usually waking around 10pm, but he is often awake and active until around 8am. He is extremely active and curious and absolutely thrives when given lots of enrichment, including different hides, tunnels, sprays, foraging opportunities and things to explore. I am looking for a loving, experienced home that understands Syrian hamster care and can provide him with the appropriate space, enrichment and patience he needs. This is a difficult decision, and I want to make sure he goes to the right person rather than simply the first person interested.
