- Athena
- 3 and a half years. DOB 05.11.2023.
- Lives in Saddleworth
- Spayed & microchipped
- No medical history, but is missing her 2 front teeth after chasing a ball and she ran into the wall - causes her no problems.
- Always been on raw food diet.
- Great guard dog and barks the house down when someone knocks on.
- Athena is a cheeky curious girl. Very loving and has always been my shadow by my side.
- Athena is very affectionate and loves to stand with her nose in between my thighs and be stroked.
- Athena is a tea towel and sock thief.
- Athena loves to play fetch with a ball / frisbee.
- Athena loves to be on the sofa with her head on my shoulder like a parrot. She thinks she's the size of a chihuahua.
- Athena is fine to be left in the home alone, in a safe spot where she can not get into anything (cupboards for example). Athena will be left home alone whilst I'm at work. Never had any noise complaints from neighbours regarding barking / whining when she's left alone.
- Athena has slept in her crate from the first night we brought her home. She's very good with her crate and will settle straight away. My friends laugh about our routine with her as everyone says she's like a baby. Athena settles straight away in her crate - but she sometimes wakes me up when she's dreaming and wagging her tail in her crate!
- Athena will sleep 7pm to 7am and she will tap on the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs telling us she's ready to go to bed!
- Went to puppy classes with Wirral K9.
- Unsure what she is like with children as we don't have any children in the family. But the neighbours on our street love her. I tell Athena to sit while the children say hello and stroke her and Athena has always been well behaved. On walks we walk past local schools and Athena says hello to the children and is well behaved.
- Athena is very observant and she will bark at something random like a cardboard box in the road that was not there the day before.
- On walks Athena always remembers where she found a random piece of food. On our walks she will always investigate a particular bush that she found a sausage in once.
- Good with commands like sit / stay / down / wait / middle / spin etc - but she's never done paw!
Unfortunately I am looking to rehome Athena as my husband unexpectedly separated from me and has not been willing to do joint custody. I work shifts and often finish work late. Since separating I have kept the home we shared and so I'm in a very different financial situation and have been struggling to manage everything. Athena is now on her own for a lot longer than she was before. I feel like I can no longer provide the care for her that we once could as a couple.
