This is a heartbreaking decision, but due to my own sudden health issues which are now on going , I am looking to rehome my beautiful 2 year old pure kc reg Doberman.
This is absolutely no fault of her own I simply no longer have the fitness or health to give her the time, exercise and attention she deserves.
She is a lovely family dog and is happiest when she is with you. She is a real “velcro” dog and loves being around her people.
About her:
* 2 years old
* Loves children and is brilliant around them. She currently lives with children, including our youngest who is 3 oldest is 9.
* Good with other dogs, including smaller dogs. She lives with 3 very small dogs
* Currently lives with 2 cats, but she will chase cats if given the opportunity, so I would prefer a cat free home.
* Very affectionate and loves being with you.
* Clever and picks up training very quickly.
* Good off the lead once she knows and trusts you, but I would not let her off lead in a new home until she has properly bonded with you.
* She lives both indoors and outdoors, but ideally would be an indoor family dog. If I am not home, she is happy in a secure dog run but always sleeps indoors .
* She is crate trained and is crated when left alone in the house will chew if she gets bored or left for too long.
* She fully house trained.
* She not be used to guard she is super friendly even to postman will let him walk in the garden.
Things her new owner needs to understand:
She is a Doberman and needs someone who genuinely understands the breed and is prepared to continue her training.
She is very strong and can be stubborn. She can also behave like a big puppy and gets very excited, sometimes forgetting just how big and strong she is!
She isn’t brilliant on the lead. We live surrounded by open fields, so unfortunately she hasn’t had to walk on a lead regularly. When she does need to be on one, we use a Halti which works well.
She is very responsive to training and listens particularly well to her person, but she can be a typical one person dog when it comes to training and bonding something Doberman owners will understand.
This is not an easy rehome and I will not let her go to just anyone. She needs an active, experienced home with someone who understands Dobermans and big breed dogs , who has the time to give her plenty of exercise, training and attention, and will treat her as part of the family.
She has so many wonderful qualities and deserves a home where she can continue to thrive.
I am happy to answer genuine questions and would want to speak at length with anyone interested to make sure it is the right match for her. I have a lot of pictures and videos of her.
Please do not message if you are looking for a dog on a whim. Her welfare and finding the right home are my absolute priority.
Also her having a dog like this isn’t cheap she had a high protein diet 2,000 calories daily which is about 400g . She has a raw diet . So please before messaging think about the cost of the up keep of a big dog.
She won’t be going with paper work
She is spayed .
