Description

Bonny is in foster care in Nottingham and is now ready for her forever home. Bonny came from a shelter in Northern Spain after she was given up by hunters. She is negative to all Mediterranean diseases. She is 2 years old (DOB 10/2/2023). She is a super sweet, loving girl. Bonnie must have another dog for company living in the home and someone who can give her plenty of guidance and ongoing training. This is from her foster mum: What can I say about Bonnie (or Bon Bon as she's been nicknamed). When she arrived she was a big bundle of pent up energy and mischief. In the last 4 weeks she's learnt to walk nicely on the lead, we use a halti for control and she's taken to it very well, she still pulls occasionally but everyday she's getting better. She can be quite comical when she's out on her walks as shes vocal when she finds a good scent, she's currently learning that she doesn't need to let the neighbourhood know there's a rabbit in the bushes and we've now gotten to the point where she's giving a few good yips then she will allow herself to be guided away. She can be quite strong minded but she responds very well to a good strong NO when she's being naughty. She does love to be outside and if there's a suitable hole in the fence she will exploit it! So a sound garden is a must for her she's not much of a jumper so check for ground level holes! She is an absolute diamond with other dogs and children she's spent a weekend with 2 little ones both under 2yrs and regularly sees my 6yr old niece and 14yr old nephew. It would be ideal if Bonny found a home in a house with another doggo to play with. She is noisy with her play and not all dogs like it but it is fun to watch her enticing other dogs to play by bopping them on the head with her big paws lol. Although she does like to play she is quite calm indoors I have another dog of 13 who's playing days are long gone and she's very respectful of this and doesn't bug him although she does like to curl up with him. She is a snuggle bug and will jump up on the sofa next to you very undemanding she just wants to be near you and she's a lovely hot water bottle in bed! Bonnie is such a sweet outgoing lassie who just needs a consistent firm hand and regular walks to help her progress with her training. Bonnies training so far; -knows Sit, -walks reasonably on the lead and is improving, -she's clean indoors most of the time but has the odd accident especially now it's too cold to leave the door open so we'll be working on getting her to let me know when she needs to go out, -doesn't steal food -Doesn't counter surf -will half inch dog biscuits if you leave them out-happy to be left at home, I've left her for 4hrs so far without incident. -good around plates at meal times, -gives a paw when asked, -Doesn't like jumping in the car but once in, travels well (loves it if you have the window open). Please message if you are interested with information about your family, ages of everyone in the home, existing pets & work hours. All enquiries will be looked at. We only rehome to England, Wales & Scotland. Please note: We are looking for a secure garden with fencing or walls to a minimum of 5ft. We also need the dogs to be kept on a lead, long lunge lead or for people to use enclosed fields for off lead exercise as these dogs are scent hounds & have hunting backgrounds. We do not rehome with children under 8 years old. Full rescue back up is provided.
