Description
Our gorgeous 11-month-old male Labrador is looking for his forever home. He is a beautiful fox-red colour, fully intact, microchipped and has a tattoo on his ear, indicating that he came from a registered breeder or has been part of a recognised pedigree/identification scheme. Unfortunately though, we do not have his pedigree papers.
He is a wonderfully soft-natured, loving and loyal boy who absolutely adores people and other animals. He is fantastic with children, dogs, cats, birds and horses and has such a gentle nature.
Because of his difficult start in life, (in his initial home he experienced abuse therefore coming to us) he was given very little training initially, so he can be very nervous and lacking in confidence when he first meets someone (never aggressive just timid and hiding away). He needs a patient owner who understands that he will need time, reassurance and continued training to build his confidence. He is initially nervous of a lead (we believe he was hit with them, but once it is on he is happy)
He has already made excellent progress with his training. He is mostly house trained, walks beautifully to heel, has good recall and walks off the lead very well. He does not jump up at people, isn't a big barker and is crate trained.
Once he knows and trusts you, his personality really shines through. He is incredibly affectionate, loyal and loving, full of life, and we genuinely believe that with the right person and a little more time and training over the coming months, he could be the most wonderful Labrador you could wish for.
We absolutely love him and would ideally keep him, but unfortunately our increased work commitments and my declining health mean that we can no longer give him the time and commitment he deserves to finish his training.
We feel he would be best suited to a loving family or couple, ideally with someone at home for much of the day who can continue his training and help him develop his confidence (although he can be left alone if necessary with no issues unless you leave socks and cuddly toys around lol, he has never chewed furniture, he is happy in a crate though to protect your underwear!)
This is not an easy decision, and finding the right forever home for him is extremely important to us. We would much rather take our time and find the perfect family than simply sell him quickly.
He has so much love to give and, with the right person, we truly believe he has the potential to be an exceptional companion.
