Description
We are looking for a loving, experienced home for Dave, our 18-month-old male Boxer. This has been a very difficult decision, but due to clashing with our other male Boxer and ongoing tension within our multi-dog household, we feel it is in Dave’s best interests to find a calmer environment where he can mature and thrive.
Dave comes from a strong Boxer show background and has won multiple awards. He is a lovely example of the breed – well put together, handsome, and full of character. He has been raised in a true Boxer household with his mum, dad, sister and several other Boxers across different generations. Both of his parents are heart scored, and he comes from health-tested lines. Dave is fully vaccinated, regularly wormed and flea treated, microchipped (details will be transferred to the new owner), and has no known health issues.
Dave is extremely affectionate and loves cuddles – he really enjoys being close to you on the sofa or at your feet, and he will happily try to climb onto your lap! He is very young-minded, playful, and full of energy, bouncing around in typical Boxer style. He enjoys walks, although he does pull on the lead and would benefit from ongoing training and guidance. He knows basic household routines but still needs work on manners and general obedience. Dave is very food and play motivated, so with consistent training, he will thrive.
He is confident when he is with his family dogs but can be more unsure on his own. He sometimes clashes with his dad, who puts him in his place, and eggs on his sister, so he will do best in a home where he is not easily led by another dog and can focus on maturing. Dave loves travelling and is comfortable on long journeys. He is crate trained for sleeping but also loves relaxing on the sofa. He is fed Eukanuba Professional Adult and thrives on routine, play, and attention.
We are seeking an experienced Boxer home only – he is not suitable as a first dog. He needs a secure, good-sized garden to play and burn off energy, and a family with older teenage children who can provide time for training, exercise, and socialisation. We are not looking to sell to breeders, dealers, or resellers – our priority is finding the right, lifelong home for Dave.
Rehoming process: Serious enquiries will start with a phone call discussion, followed by a face-to-face meeting at our home in South Nottingham. A rehoming contract will be used, and no shipping or third-party collections are accepted.
Price: £550 – this reflects our focus on finding the right home, not profit.
This decision has not been taken lightly. Dave is a much-loved, caring, playful, and affectionate dog, and this is about harmony in our pack, not behaviour issues. We are only interested in genuine enquiries from people who understand Boxers and can offer him the love, attention, and guidance he deserves.
