Description
Unfortunately we need to find our beautiful English Cream Retriever Evie a new home.
She is 2 in April and has been spayed and is upto date with vaccinations and worming.
My husband works long hours, I need to change my job from Half days to full days plus I have ill eldery parents that I am trying to care for.
It is all getting too much for me and I constantly feel guilty to Evie not giving her the time she deserves.
She is quite good at recall if she is on her own but completely ignores us if she sees another dog to play with.
She has been brought up with two cats and has never hurt them. On occasion she tries to chase them or play with them until they hiss at her and put her in her place.
She does pull a bit on the lead which we have been working on and she is improving but needs more work to walk to heel. She is very strong as she is a 40kg dog.
She is very giddy when greeting people that come into the house by jumping up and humping and running between your legs. This makes it difficult for young children or my parents to come to my house to visit as she hurts people by accident due to her size.
I think she would really benefit from experienced dog owners that have time to put into her training and also give her decent walks which would help calm her energy levels down.
I am unsure how she would be living with other dogs. She loves to play with dogs out on walks but does a bit of a food resource guarding. She tenses up and eats really quickly so I think she would need to be fed in a separate room until this improves.
Please don't let these things that need a bit of work put you off as she has a lot of love to give. She loves swimming and playing on the beach and a cuddle in bed.
We will be heart broken to see her go.
