Description

I am unfortunately needing to rehome my 3 boars. Max (cream colour) and Mikey (black) came as an original pair. They’re slightly older than Jasper (grey) who come as a loan piggy. Max and Mikey are around 8-9 months old while Jasper is around 6-7 months. Max is the most inquisitive and will be the first to come sniffing at your feet for treats. Mikey is the sweetest and quietest. He will take food from your hand and is pretty happy to just chill out. Jasper is the most nervous and has never really been handled. But if you remain in the enclosure for some time quietly sitting he does come to explore and have a smell of you. Max has always been at the head of the herd since they were put together. However, over the last 3-4 weeks Jasper has been challenging for this position. There has been no need to separate at this stage as no violence has erupted just some light chasing. This is likely due to the volume of space they have to be able to get away from each other and so I would prefer for them to either stay in their current outdoor enclosure or an alternative. Or if you would prefer them indoors this is fine, but they would need ample space to get away from each other or be separated if necessary. Mikey being the most relaxed is happy to let max and Jasper sort this out and doesn’t involve himself in any disputes. I have two children and two dogs which the pigs aren’t phased by either. Both of my children (3 and 10) sit in the enclosure each day to feed and observe the pigs. They don’t attempt to handle the pigs by their choice so they are mainly living pretty naturally within their enclosure. I’m sure with some persistence you could build trust with them for handling. I don’t want any payment for the pigs or their enclosure should you want it just a home they can be happy and have space to roam. Please do not take the pigs if you plan to home them in an enclosure that is too small. Their current enclosure can be split in half using grids which you can obtain cheaply from Amazon should Jasper need to be separated from the herd should there dispute get violent, however, they have been closely monitored since this behaviour started and this hasn’t been necessary and I suspect this will come to an end shortly. I will be happy to help with disassembly of the enclosure so you know how this comes apart and fits together. If local/reasonable distance, I will also be happy to help with transporting the pigs/enclosure for the cost of fuel. We are based in Liverpool L33 close to Headbolt train station.
