Description

Meet Raven ! Very loving easy going Doberman bitch. We have only had Raven for a few months and unfortunately it hasn’t worked out how we hoped. We also have a German Shepard and another young Doberman. Sadly our GSD was hit by a car last September and had to have a hind leg amputated, he’s coped really well but needs to slow down ! He was playing too much with our Doberman and putting too much strain on the remaining hind leg. So the idea behind having Raven was that the 2 Dobermans would play together and give the GSD a break. What’s actually happened is that they all play together and he’s doing even more ! It’s taking it’s toll on him and we need to find a new home for Raven She is great with our dogs and brilliant with our 2 children. She has seen the vet twice since we’ve had her, once for a general check up and the second time to restart her vaccinations as they had not been kept up to date by previous owner. She has also had flea & wormer combo tablet from the vets. She is back at the vets tomorrow (11/03) for her second vaccination. Happy to provide vets information. She’s a happy dog and loves being with people and / or other dogs. I don’t think she would do well being left totally alone for long periods of time. She is crated at bedtime and when we go out and is happy to go in her crate. I have only taken her out a few times on her lead as we have land at home to walk them round. She does pull but is much better on her figure 8 lead. I am 5ft 2 and weigh about 8.5 stone and I don’t find her a problem to walk ! She’s a quick learner so I am confident this would improve quickly with training, especially as she’s a big foodie !! She does bark at approaching dogs which was disclosed to me by her previous owner, this started when she was attacked by another dog out on a walk. Her recall is good, our land has a perimeter but is not fenced off securely and we have only lost her once when she wandered into a neighbouring field but came back when called ! She is fine with my dogs and was also fine with my friends lab ! Previous owner had her from a puppy. They also have young children and 2 dogs. The reason she was rehoming her is because Raven kept chasing their house cats and it had become a management problem and was causing tension in the house. I’m sure previous owner would not mind me passing on her details to verify Raven’s history. It’s a really hard decision as I don’t like the idea of her having to go to a new home as she’s such a sweet dog and doesn’t deserve to be passed around. That said, I have to put my older dogs welfare first and preserve his life for as long as possible which means protecting his leg. She travels fine in the car and is not a fussy eater ! She is microchipped. She is NOT spayed I think I’ve covered most things but any questions please drop me a message !
