Carmen once belonged to a loving family — until war shattered everything. When her owners fled abroad, they left her behind with an elderly grandmother who simply couldn’t keep up with a young, energetic dog. Soon Carmen was seen wandering near rubbish bins, searching for the people who had vanished from her world.
Volunteers recognised her from social media posts and brought her to safety. Slowly, she learned again what it meant to be loved and cared for… and then finally, last week, she made her journey to the UK to start a new life.
But sadly, her new home has turned out not to be the right fit. Not because Carmen has behavioural issues — she doesn’t — but simply because she is too sensitive for a busy, noisy household. Now she urgently needs a quiet, understanding foster place where she can settle without stress.

Carmen is a people-focused girl. She loves walks, adores cuddles, and blossoms when she feels safe. She is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when close to her human. Outdoors she is curious and active; indoors she is gentle, calm, and content to relax.
Her current home says:
“Carmen is a very special girl who needs a lot of love but also occasionally a place to settle down on her own after a long day. She’s not very keen on loud children and noises. Very outdoorsy — loves walks and a cuddle afterwards. I believe she needs someone without children or other pets, someone active and living in a quiet neighbourhood. She deserves the absolute best.”
Carmen is clean indoors, settles well, and has no destructive tendencies. She simply needs a quiet environment and patient humans who understand sensitive dogs.
