Description
I am hoping to find an experienced rabbit owner, who has a big space and a neutered male or female rabbit for this boy to enjoy life with. I bought him to live as a house rabbit after the sad and sudden passing of my previous much loved girl. However, although I have had him since he was 10 weeks old and handled him regularly, he has matured into a grumpy chap, who is not living his best life with me. He does not really like affection, will not be picked up, he will very occasionally come to me have his ears stroked, and seems to like my 18m old grandchild who he has grown up alongside. He is used to dogs and will play with a small dog, which makes me think he will be happier living with with a friend if he can be successfully bonded. He can be very aggressive and territorial of his bedroom (indoor crate) He has chewed lumps out of my armchairs and other furniture, has chewed off wallpaper and has started on my carpet, despite having an abundance of enrichment toys and I'm at home most of the time. For this reason he can no longer have freedom around the house so he goes into a pen in the garden every day and it just seems sad seeing him outside alone. I attempted to introduce him to another rabbit I was looking after a few months ago but he was extremely aggressive, so bonding will not necessarily be easy, but I think it can be done with time and patience by someone experienced. He was neutered earlier in the year because he had started nipping and I hoped it would calm him down and make him friendlier. He is very beautiful, self black, he is litter trained and very clean. He has been vaccinated, boosters are due next month.
