PS. Before making assumptions about Zuzu, last litter girl or about Shiba Inu in general, I would like people to take a moment and think.
I understand that many people spend hours reading articles online, watching videos, and listening to stories about Shibas escaping, ignoring recall, or being “difficult” dogs. The internet is full of dramatic videos showing Shibas jumping fences or running off. But what people often forget is to ask WHY.
A happy, fulfilled Shiba does not spend its life looking for ways to escape. A dog that receives proper exercise, mental stimulation, companionship, and structure has no reason to run away from a loving home. Shibas are intelligent, independent thinkers, but they are not the problem.
I know many people who own breeds considered easy to train and reliable off-lead, yet they never let their dogs off the lead. Why? Because responsible ownership is not about the breed. It is about understanding your dog and managing it correctly.
In my experience, one of the biggest problems is not the dog—it is the owner’s mindset. If you constantly worry that your dog will run away, if you are nervous every time you open a gate or unclip a lead, your dog feels that energy. Dogs are incredibly sensitive to human emotions. A nervous owner often creates a nervous dog.
Zuzu is not available because there is something wrong with her.
Zuzu was the fifth puppy in the litter. She was originally reserved by a lady who intended to buy her as a ****************** for her daughter. Unfortunately, the reservation did not work out, and the puppy became available again. Since then, I have received countless enquiries, many from people who love the idea of a Shiba but become frightened after reading negative stories online.
Please do not look for faults in Zuzu. There are none.
She is healthy, clean, confident, funny, affectionate, and full of character. She has been raised around Basset Hounds and other dogs, giving her excellent social experience. She is brave, mentally strong, and has a wonderful temperament.
What she needs is not a perfect owner. She simply needs a sensible owner.
Someone who will take her for walks, let her enjoy the garden, use a long lead in parks, build trust with her, and most importantly, love her for the rest of her life. That is all.
Shiba Inu are extraordinary dogs. They are intelligent, loyal, clean, and full of personality. Like every breed, they have their own traits and challenges. Every breed does. No dog is perfect, and no breed comes with guarantees.
If I truly believed Shibas were impossible to live with, I certainly would not have devoted so much of my life to them. I would not own them, breed them, show them, and love them as much as I do.
So before believing every scary story you read online, remember this: every breed has its stereotypes, every breed has its difficult individuals, and every breed can become a problem in the wrong hands.
The dog is rarely the problem.
More often than not, the problem is a lack of understanding, patience, and commitment from the human.
And Zuzu deserves better than that. ❤️
