🖤 SHERLOCK – HANDSOME BLACK STANDARD POODLE – 16 MONTHS OLD 🖤 KC Registered | Entire Male | £950 I’m looking for a very special home for Sherlock, my beautiful 16-month-old black Standard Poodle. Sherlock came back to me three months ago, and since then I’ve spent a great deal of time working with him, establishing boundaries and teaching him some much-needed manners. The transformation has been remarkable, and I’m incredibly proud of how far he’s come. He is an exceptionally loving, affectionate and intelligent boy with a wonderful personality. He’s devoted to his people, loves nothing more than being close to you and will happily curl up beside you on the sofa. He’s a real character, full of enthusiasm for life, and an absolute joy to have around. A little about Sherlock: * KC registered, with an excellent pedigree and fully health-tested parents. * Fully vaccinated, including his recent annual booster. * Microchipped and fully toilet trained. * Excellent household manners. He’s clean, non-destructive and doesn’t chew or dig. * Impeccable manners around food. He waits patiently and is beautifully polite at mealtimes. * Travels exceptionally well in the car. * Walks beautifully on the lead and is now an absolute pleasure to take out. * Fabulous recall when there are no distractions. * Very intelligent, eager to learn and responds extremely well to consistent guidance. * Affectionate, loyal and wonderfully gentle, with a lovely ability to settle and relax at home. Where Sherlock still needs some understanding: Sherlock’s biggest challenge is his enthusiasm! He absolutely adores people and other dogs, and his excitement can sometimes get the better of him. Although his recall is excellent without distractions, once another dog or an interesting person appears, all that training can temporarily go out of the window! For this reason, he needs to remain on a lead or long line in situations where distractions are likely. His new owners must understand that he may never be a dog who can safely enjoy unrestricted off-lead walks around other dogs. This isn’t aggression. He’s simply an extremely sociable, exuberant young dog who wants to say hello to absolutely everybody! His jumping and overexcitement have improved dramatically with consistent boundaries, and he’s now a much calmer, more polite and manageable young man. Sherlock’s life with other dogs: When Sherlock returned to me three months ago, I was preparing for the arrival of a litter of puppies. I wasn’t entirely sure how such an enthusiastic young dog would cope with a house full of puppies, but he completely exceeded my expectations. He was absolutely wonderful with them, showing a lovely, gentle and patient side to his personality. He has also lived very happily alongside my adult girls and has adapted beautifully to life in a busy, multi-dog household. He’s proved himself to be an incredibly adaptable young dog, and I’ve been very impressed by his ability to adjust to different situations. The home I’m looking for: Although Sherlock has demonstrated that he can live very happily with other dogs, my preference would be for him to be an only dog. Not because he doesn’t get along with other animals, but simply because I would love him to have the individual attention, companionship and devotion he deserves. I’m looking for an experienced, loving home where his new owners will appreciate his wonderful personality, continue the training I’ve worked so hard on and understand that, despite his enormous progress, he’s still a young, enthusiastic dog with plenty of character! I’ve been breeding Standard Poodles for approximately 14 years, and finding the right home for my dogs is incredibly important to me. Sherlock will leave with my ongoing support, and I’m more than happy to discuss his personality, progress and needs in detail with genuinely interested families. Sherlock is a truly beautiful boy, inside and out.
