Description
Chilli
1 Year Old Collie x Cocker Spaniel
(Born 25th October 2024)
Chilli is a bright, affectionate, and wonderfully energetic young girl who absolutely thrives on attention and fuss. She’s well mannered for her age and already knows several commands, including sit, lay down, and stay. She also has excellent recall, which makes her a pleasure to take out and about.
Because of her Collie/Cocker breeding and her young age, Chilli is naturally high energy. She really benefits from at least one good walk a day two if possibly along with mental stimulation and play. The only reason she is looking for a new home is that my partner and I are now working far more hours than before, and unfortunately she isn’t getting the time, structure, or attention she deserves.
Chilli lives with two other dogs and gets along brilliantly with them. On the rare occasion, she has shown a bit of territorial behaviour around me or my partner. We addressed it immediately, and she has not shown it for some time. My partner’s family have always owned Collies, so we recognised it as a common Collie trait and have been consistent in managing it. She can happily live with other dogs or as the only dog in the home she truly loves playing and socialising.
She is fully crate trained and has slept in her crate at night since she was a puppy. We also cover her crate, especially overnight, as it helps her settle, relax, and completely switch off in her own cosy space. It’s very much her calm, safe place after a busy day.

Chilli adores anything that can be thrown for her especially balls and will happily bring it back for you all day if you let her. Because she gets overly excited about balls, we only use them on walks or during structured training rather than inside the house.
Chilli is a tough, brave little dog who rarely seems phased by much she’s confident, curious, and up for anything. I think she would make a great gun dog will relevant training or a sheepdog as she has shown a natural ability to hurd.
She has been fed a raw diet from a puppy. We originally switched to raw for one of our other dogs, and it worked so well that Chilli has been on it ever since. She eats from a slow feeder bowl as she used to inhale her meals and occasionally made herself sick. The slow feeder has completely solved the issue and helps her eat at a healthier pace.
Chilli will come with her crate, bed, bowl, lead basically everything she needs to settle in comfortably.
Price is slightly negligible as we would like to find her the best home.
