Description

By no fault of his own, it is with an incredibly heavy heart that I must rehome my beautiful Sprocker Spaniel, Philip, due to an unfortunate change in circumstances where I cannot provide adequate time to ensure his every need is met. He is a great learner who really enjoys training and would likely benefit from agility in the future. He is great at following a routine, is house trained, toilet trained, and sleeps through the night seamlessly with only a couple of disturbances when he needs the loo. He loves to play and enjoys scent-work and enrichment games- his favourite being “find the toy” which has sharpened his impulse control and patience. Due to some anxiety issues, he has regressed with his lead training and does currently pull, he also has resource guarding tendencies which show when he is overtired or when he attains an item he shouldn’t have (tea towels, or tissue for example). He has a set training plan which we are currently following and will require upkeep to reduce his anxiety and help minimise these behaviours. He is not an unpredictable or aggressive dog, and he has clear body language and communication so is easy to read, and you won’t be caught off guard by any of these behaviours. He takes himself to bed when tired, he comes to you when he wants cuddles or play. His current activity level includes two walks a day, for a combined total of 1 1/2 hours. With short bursts of enrichment and play between. He is happy to be left alone and rests well throughout the day when this activity level is met. He does follow a whole food diet which will need to be continued. He is microchipped and fully up-to-date with his flea, tick and worming treatments.
