It is with a very heavy heart that I am looking for a very special home for Maverick, a beautiful Sprocker Spaniel boy from my litter born on 19th February 2026. Maverick was originally placed in a lovely home with a family who already owned Rory, one of my dogs from a previous litter, and who also welcomed Maverick and his brother Goose from this litter. Sadly, it became apparent that Maverick was being bullied and attacked by the other dogs in the household, and his owner made the very difficult and responsible decision to return him to me so that I could find him a home better suited to his needs. Maverick has now been back with me for 10 days and has settled beautifully. He is currently living happily with his Dad Rocky, Mum Teal, Sister Willow and Auntie Rosie, and it has been lovely to see him relax and enjoy being part of a happy pack again. 💙 He is an incredibly sweet, affectionate and gentle Sprocker. He is good with people in the home, loves attention and has a lovely nature. He is crate trained and toilet trained, and has all the foundations of being a wonderful companion. Maverick is fully up to date with his vaccinations and health checks, and is up to date with his flea and worm treatment. There are, however, some important things that his new family will need to understand. 🐾 Maverick is not suited to being left for long periods. He needs a home where someone works from home, has plenty of time at home, or is able to take him to work with them. He needs to be part of the family and have plenty of companionship. 🐾 He would ideally be the only dog in the household. If there is already another dog, it would need to be a particularly calm, well-behaved and well-socialised dog, and this would need to be carefully considered to make sure it was the right match for Maverick. 🐾 He is nervous around unfamiliar dogs when out of the home. He is not aggressive, but he will need patient, positive socialisation and confidence-building to help him become comfortable in different environments and around other dogs. 🐾 His recall is not reliable yet, so his new owner will need to continue working on lead manners, recall and general training. He should not be trusted off lead until his recall is reliable. Maverick isn't a difficult or aggressive dog — he is a sensitive, loving boy who has had an experience that has knocked his confidence, and I want to make sure his next home is the right one for him. As his breeder, I am very protective of where my puppies go and I am not looking for just any home. I want to find Maverick a loving, stable and permanent family who understands that he may need a little extra patience, reassurance and training while he continues to build his confidence. 📸 Please visit my Facebook page, Shadwell Sprockers, to see photos and videos of Maverick and the pack.
