Our darling Millie.
A very sad sale as we feel we aren’t the right dog parents for her.
We adopted her a few months ago and she has been an absolute angel day to day. A true sweetheart.
She is wonderful with babies, children, cats, other dogs and small animals.
She knows Sit, Down, Roll, Bed, Paw, Come. She has got so much more to give.
She’s got good recall but it’s like 80% there. If she’s sniffing something you aren’t as interesting until she’s finished. But she’s a very good girl off lead. Will always check back in with you to make sure you’re still following. She prefers the freedom and trust.
She’s very gentle when eating and taking food from you.
She’s all about kisses. If she could just lick you all day she would.
She’s not super playful and loves nothing but a cuddle and a nap next to you.
She is a WONDERFUL dog. She just isn’t OUR dog.
She absolutely loves the woods, beach and the water. If she can have atleast one of these daily she is one very happy girl.
Now obviously the “cons”
She’s a barker. She will bark at on go-ers and other dogs in the garden.
She doesn’t like strangers. She will bark lots until she feels you are safe. We have been working on this but haven’t had the dedicated time or ability to completely stop this.
She likes men less than women but she did come from a situation where this is explained. But she has MASSIVELY warmed to my partner in the time we’ve had her. It took about 3-4days for her to know he was okay and wasn’t going to shout or hurt her.
She also has mild separation anxiety. HAS to follow you to each and every single room. Even if she was just absolutely soundo. And I mean if you’re having a bath or a toilet, she’s coming with you whether you like it or not.
She can be left in a crate overnight in the kitchen but she doesn’t like being left at home without a human there.
We thought having our other dog there would help but it’s definitely just a misses her human type of thing.
She would definitely benefit from a family who already has another dog. We have seen the massive improvement in her having a best friend and would want her to have companionship, always.
She is microchipped
She is NOT spayed
She is up to date with vaccinations. Will be due her next yearly booster in June.
She is pedigree Golden retriever but no KC Papers.
She will come with her bits and bobs including her bed, bowls, harness, lead, collar, halti.
We really wished we could have made this work but due to us potentially moving abroad we are having to think logically and we feel the best place for her would be a dedicated family here.
