Norman – Gorgeous 11-Week-Old Working Cocker Spaniel Puppy 🐾❤️ PLEASE READ FULL ADD Price: £1,350 – including extensive equipment and paid puppy training classes Date of birth: 12/08/2026 Age: 11 weeks Sex: Male Location: York Meet Norman, our absolutely gorgeous working Cocker Spaniel boy, who we are very sadly looking to find a loving, experienced forever home for. Both of Norman's parents are fully working Cocker Spaniels, with his dad being KC registered. Why we're looking for a new home ❤️ This is an incredibly difficult and emotional decision for us, and certainly not one we have taken lightly. Norman is a much-loved member of our family, and our priority is ensuring he has the happiest and most fulfilling life possible. Unfortunately, a combination of changes in our circumstances has led us to consider whether a different home would be better suited to his needs. We have an older cat who has found adjusting to life with an energetic puppy more difficult than we initially anticipated. Although things started positively, she has become increasingly unsettled, and we feel it's important to consider her wellbeing too. We would like to stress that Norman has had positive interactions with our cat. He has not growled or barked at her and, when she has approached to investigate him, he has generally remained still and calm. Unfortunately, despite these positive interactions, our cat has struggled to adjust to the change in her environment. Our working arrangements have also changed unexpectedly, meaning the daytime care arrangements we originally had in place for Norman are no longer as practical as they once were. Having welcomed Norman into our lives, we've also gained a much greater understanding of just how much time, stimulation and training a working Cocker Spaniel needs. As first-time dog owners, we feel he would truly flourish with somebody who has experience of this wonderful, energetic breed. We've spent a great deal of time exploring ways to make our circumstances work, but ultimately, we want to put Norman's long-term happiness and wellbeing first. About Norman ❤️ Norman is an absolutely gorgeous, clever and very energetic little boy with bags of personality. He is an extremely excitable puppy who loves playing, exploring and learning new things. He is also very much in the land shark stage of puppyhood! His biting and mouthing can be quite intense, particularly when he becomes excited or overtired. For this reason, we feel he would be best suited to an experienced home without young children, with owners who understand working breeds and can provide patient, consistent, positive training. Norman can become overstimulated and overtired, so he needs plenty of opportunities to nap and a consistent routine. Norman's training and routine so far 🐶 For such a young puppy, Norman has already made some lovely progress: - Fully crate trained and settles well in his crate. - Sleeps through the night from approximately 8.30pm until 7am, with toilet breaks as needed. - Puppy-pad trained, with very few accidents. We don't leave a pad down permanently, as he lets us know when he needs one. - Knows how to sit and stay. - Has started learning to play fetch. - Is comfortable wearing his harness and walking around our home in it. - Has an established routine with regular naps throughout the day. He is a very intelligent puppy who we believe will thrive with the right experienced owner, structure and enrichment. Health and vaccinations 💉 Norman is: - Microchipped. - Flea and worm treated up to date. - Vaccinated with his first puppy vaccination. - Due his second vaccination on 7 November 2026. - Expected to be able to start outdoor walks from 14 November 2026, in accordance with the vaccination schedule we've been given. Everything Norman will come with 🏡 We have bought Norman everything we felt he could possibly need, and all of it will be included so that he can settle into his new home with familiar belongings. - His large sleeping crate, pictured in the advert. - His foldable wire crate, used for daytime naps. - His puppy pen. - His travel crate. - His crate mats and bedding. - All his collars, leads and harnesses. - All his toys. - His lick mat. - His bath towel. - His puppy shampoo. - His nail clippers. - Puppy pads. - His remaining puppy food. - His food storage containers. Fully paid puppy training classes included! 🎓 Norman is also booked onto a six-week puppy training course in York, beginning on Saturday 14 November 2026. These classes have already been paid for, and we would be more than happy for his new owner to take over his place, subject to the training provider agreeing to the transfer. The home we're looking for ❤️ We are looking for somebody who ideally has previous experience with working Cocker Spaniels or similarly energetic breeds. Somebody who understands the time, patience, training and mental stimulation that a working Cocker needs, and who has realistic expectations of puppyhood. We would prefer a home without young children and with somebody who has the time to dedicate to his ongoing training and development. Please understand that this decision is absolutely heartbreaking for us. We love Norman dearly, and we have spent a lot of time trying to work out how we could make things work. Unfortunately, we have reached the conclusion that keeping him simply because we love him would not necessarily be in his best interests. We want him to have the happiest, most fulfilling life possible, even if that means it isn't with us. We will be asking prospective owners questions about their experience, home, working arrangements and plans for Norman's training. He will not simply be going to the first person who enquiries. We want to be absolutely certain that his next home is the right one, and ideally his forever home. Genuine, thoughtful enquiries only, please. ❤️🐾 price negotiable if we can find the right home.
