Bobby (aka "Gobby Bobby") Bobby is a handsome Blue British Shorthair looking for a loving new forever home where he can be the centre of attention. Bobby is a charming, affectionate boy with a wonderfully chatty personality. His nickname, "Gobby Bobby", comes from the fact that he always has something to say, especially when it's mealtime! He'll happily follow you around and keep you company, making sure you don't forget his dinner. Despite his naturally grumpy-looking expression, he is a genuinely sweet and loving cat. He enjoys spending time close to his people and loves curling up next to you on the sofa for a cuddle. He's not a fan of being picked up, preferring affection on his own terms, but he forms strong bonds with those he trusts. Bobby is very affectionate towards our 11 year old son, however; Bobby retreats to his cat tree or hides under the table when our son makes unexpectedly loud noises so we believe that for the sake of Bobby's overall wellbeing, he is much better suited to a child free home. Bobby came to us with his littermate, Ronnie, and they lived together happily for over a year. Following a house move in March 2026, Bobby unexpectedly became unable to tolerate Ronnie's presence which resulted in an altercation. Neither of the two were injured but, Bobby now outright refuses to be anywhere near Ronnie. We sought professional guidance from a cat behaviour specialist and followed a full reintroduction programme, but despite our best efforts the relationship could not be repaired. Since then, the cats have been managed separately, but it has become increasingly clear that hearing or sensing Ronnie nearby causes Bobby significant stress and anxiety. We feel it would be unfair to keep him in a situation where he cannot fully relax and enjoy life. Bobby deserves a home where he can be the only pet and live free from the anxiety he currently experiences. He has many happy years ahead of him and will make a wonderfully loyal companion for the right person. If you think you could offer Bobby the calm, loving home he needs, we'd love to hear from you.
