We are looking for a kind, loving home for our beautiful male budgie, Kiko. He hatched on 9 November 2025, so he is still less than a year old. Kiko is a cheerful and active little bird who chirps frequently and enjoys having plenty of space and toys. He used to step onto my hand to eat seeds, but after I had a long illness, I was unable to continue his regular hand-training. He is therefore not currently hand-tame, although he will still hop onto a millet or seed treat. With patience, gentle handling and regular interaction, I think he could become hand-tame again. He has always lived in a long flight cage with plenty of toys and enrichment. He is used to a varied diet including fresh vegetables, leafy greens and a good-quality seed mix. We are only rehoming him because we are no longer able to give him the time and attention he deserves. This has been a difficult decision, and we would like him to go to a loving, responsible home where he will receive plenty of companionship and care. We are based in Reading, Berkshire, and Kiko will need to be collected this week. We have a large flight cage by ferplast - with high quality wooden perches, wooden bridge and plenty of toys which we can offer for a modest price. He will come with seeds he is used to.
