We are sadly looking for a loving and responsible new home for our male cat. This is a very difficult decision and is due to our current financial circumstances and his ongoing care needs, rather than because we no longer want him. He is an affectionate cat who likes having people around him and seeks reassurance and company, particularly when he is feeling stressed or unwell. He has a history of recurring urinary problems/cystitis, which we have been told may be stress-related. He has periods where his symptoms improve but they can return. During flare-ups he may urinate frequently, meow when attempting to urinate and sometimes urinate outside his litter tray, including on soft items such as carpets or clothes. He will therefore need an understanding owner who is prepared to continue monitoring his urinary health and seek veterinary treatment when necessary. He has previously been seen at Medivet and has been fed Hill’s Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Stress urinary wet food. We have also been giving him Urinary Gold supplement drops. His new owner should discuss his ongoing diet and treatment with their own vet. He currently uses CATSAN Hygiene Plus non-clumping litter and enjoys Webbox Lick-e-Lix treats. We are looking for someone who can provide him with a calm, stable home and who is financially able and willing to manage his veterinary and dietary needs. We want his next home to be permanent and with someone who understands his medical history. Please only enquire if you are genuinely prepared to take responsibility for his ongoing urinary health. We are happy to explain his history honestly and provide the information we have about his previous veterinary care. Finding the right home for him is much more important to us than rehoming him quickly.
