The Lowchen, also known as Löwchen, Little Lion Dog, Petit Chien Lion, is an adorable little dog that boasts a silky coat that is often trimmed to resemble that of a lion, which is why they are often referred to as a little lion dog. They are one of the greatest toy dog breeds as they are sturdy and hardy, but they also boast an endearing nature to go with their charming looks. Therefore, the Lowchen makes a wonderful companion and family dog, which is why these little dogs have found their way into the hearts and homes of people all over the world, even though their numbers are still quite small.

FAQs

Lowchens do bark, often in specific situations such as when they are excited, worried, bored, lonely, or seeking attention. They may also bark at strangers or unfamiliar noises due to their history as alert dogs. Without early training, they can become excessively vocal, so it’s important to teach them appropriate quiet behaviour from a young age.
