The Cardigan Welsh Corgi, also known as Cardie, CWC, is one of the UK"s endangered native breeds with only a few well-bred pedigree dogs registered with the Kennel Club each year. They are adorable little dogs that were once recognised as the same as the Pembroke Welsh Corgi but in the 1930s the KC recognised them as separate breeds.

The main differences lie in their size, tail, temperament, and barking habits. Cardigan Welsh Corgis are slightly bigger and heavier, have a long tail, and tend to be more reserved, serious, with stronger herding and guarding instincts, resulting in more barking. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are smaller, usually have a docked or short tail, and are more social, playful, and bouncy with less barking overall.
