The Brittany Spaniel, also known as Brittany Wiegref, Epagneul Breton, French Brittany, is also known simply as the Brittany, and as the name suggests, they originated in France where they were bred as working dogs. They thrive when kept busy, and do not do well when left to their own devices for extended periods of time. The breed has been a popular working dog in its native France for decades, but is now becoming increasingly popular here in the UK thanks to its tremendous hunting, pointing and retrieving abilities.
