Foxhounds are large, strong, highly intelligent and determined dogs that were bred specifically to hunt in packs alongside humans. As a result, they are not traditionally considered the type of dogs to keep as family or companion dogs. They are handsome, proud dogs, and in America they are often seen in the show ring, although in the UK they are more likely to be found in the hunting field and have been exhibited more recently.
