The Chow Chow, an ancient breed from northern China, stands out with its imposing, sturdy stature, and distinct blue-black tongue. There are two types of Chow, the first being a smooth-coated dog and the other being a rough-coated Chow. This breed is characterized by its lion-like mane and teddy bear appearance, elevating its majestic look. Despite their looks, Chow Chows are not simply cuddly companions. They're known for their dignified, independent attitude, paired with a loyal and protective instinct, making them excellent guard dogs. The Chow Chow's unique character requires an experienced, patient owner, who is committed to regular grooming and moderate exercise.
