Bordoodle Dogs in England

Bordoodles have high energy levels and need plenty of physical and mental exercise, which may be demanding for less active owners. They can become bored easily, leading to unwanted behaviours if not properly engaged. Their tendency to bark, inherited from their Border Collie lineage, can be frequent and may require management through training. Additionally, as a mixed breed without official breeding standards, finding reputable breeders can be challenging, and they may inherit health issues common to their parent breeds, including hip dysplasia and epilepsy.

Bordoodles typically range from medium to large size depending on the Poodle parent's size. The most common Standard Bordoodle weighs around 18 to 25 kilograms (40 to 55 pounds) and stands about 50 to 55 centimetres (20 to 22 inches) tall at the shoulder. Smaller versions exist if bred with miniature or toy Poodles, but the standard size is the most typical and requires ample exercise and space.

Bordoodles tend to bark more than some breeds due to their Border Collie heritage, which is a naturally vocal breed. Barking serves as an outlet for their energy and as an alert behaviour, but excessive barking can occur if they are bored or distressed. Proper socialisation, training, and adequate mental and physical stimulation help reduce unwanted barking, which typically decreases as they mature.
