Chameleons have over 150 known species, can range from 2.1 cm to 69.5 cm in length, are famous for their ability to change colour for camouflage and communication, have independently moving eyes, prehensile tails, primarily live in tropical forests and deserts, eat insects and occasionally leaves, are solitary creatures, lay eggs with clutches of around 20, and have body shapes adapted for camouflage and movement through foliage.
