I have been involved with animal behaviour and training for thirty years. I occasionally breed from one family of St. Bernard dogs which I show lightly (all generations placed at Crufts) and one family of Ragdoll cats, usually when I want to keep one. All health tested animals.. my dogs are hip, elbow, heart tested with certification and my adult cats are PKD and HCM screened clear. DNA certificates matching their microchips can be seen. Also we have done some 'snap' tests showing them clear of FIV and FELV but I don't have certificates for that. My animals are not at public stud, and pups' breeding restrictions are not to be lifted. I have had he same Saint family over 25 years with healthtesting available to see going back through the generations to the 1990s. Our pups are raised indoors from the moment they are born, and usually not sold until 12 weeks. Mum will be with them (by her choice) until they leave. . I am a Puppy Culture breeder and also socialise kittens extensively, Kittens also will stay with mum until 12 weeks. There may be a long wait for a pup or kitten from me , I don't breed that often. Expect an inquisition and a homecheck, also a sales contract which includes a 'not to sell on' clause, this umbrella of care covers the lifetime of the pet.
