Taco the forgotten malinois 💔4 years old
Taco was lucky enough to fly to the UK for a new life on January 24th. He is in kennels in Camarthenshire waiting to be adopted for fostered. If you can’t adopt then please consider fostering him.
Malinois really struggle being in a shelter. They are highly intelligent, highly devoted and affectionate with their owner/family, and extremely loyal. Taco can’t live out his natural instincts nor does he have a family to devote himself too. He spends his days in a cage. Not to mention his past - all we know is that he was found in an emaciated state and was really very poorly, and is lucky to still be with us. Initially scared and extremely thin, Taco soon realised that he was safe with access to regular meals, and soon came out of his shell and put weight on. However, as over a year in the shelter has now passed, you can see in his eyes that he is unhappy. He needs a home. He needs love and exercise and some comforts in his life.
Taco’s main driving force is to be close to people when he gets the opportunity. You can see him relax and he gives you a wonderful smile. He really enjoys a kiss and cuddle.
Taco is improving in the company of other dogs and could happily live with a calm female of a similar size to him.
In Taco’s short life he has known nothing but neglect, abandonment, and starvation. We believe that it’s likely he has only ever known living in poor conditions with a previous ‘owner’, the streets of Cyprus, or the four walls of his kennel.
Taco truly deserves his chance. He is vaccinated and has had a full health check and blood tests for infectious diseases.
