Description
Astrid is an absolutely lovely girl who I’m completely in love with. She’s gentle, affectionate, inquisitive, and very intelligent. She forms strong bonds and thrives with calm, patient people. She is excellent on lead, house trained, and has no issues around food. She’s a big foodie and very motivated by treats. She responds well to her name and, based on her development so far, I believe she has the potential for strong recall with continued training. A clicker would be ideal for her ongoing training, particularly on walks. When she feels comfortable, she is playful, funny, and full of personality. She loves relaxing on the bed with you (and has a habit of squishing you 🥰). She isn’t hugely toy-driven at the moment but is curious and enjoys long-lasting chews such as bones and yak chews. Astrid does take a little time to settle and build trust in new environments. With patience, gentleness, and consistency, she bonds deeply and becomes a very affectionate companion. A calm first week and allowing her to move at her own pace makes a huge difference for her confidence. She has not yet been spayed and has not had her first season; this is expected around 10–12 months of age. Unfortunately, despite loving her deeply, Astrid has struggled to fully settle in our current household environment. She is a sensitive dog and would be best suited to a calm, predictable home with patient, understanding adults who are experienced or confident with shy or anxious dogs. I believe she would truly thrive in the right setting, and it is important to me that she has the opportunity to feel safe, secure, and comfortable long-term. This decision has been incredibly difficult, but it is being made with Astrid’s wellbeing as the absolute priority. I am looking for a home that can offer her the environment she deserves, where she can continue to grow in confidence and feel truly at ease
