Looking for their new homes we have an amazing litter of dual purpose standard wirehaired dachshunds/Teckels. Mother is a mix of show/working lines and is a brilliant example of the breed, she is kind natured and has a fantastic temperament with all people and children. She is our family pet however she enjoys coming out with the ‘big dogs’ and gives them a run for their money on a shoot day, she enjoys flushing and retrieving game and does it well. Day to day walks she is totally relaxed and enjoys gentle strolls in the woods or beach. She truly has an off switch and her prey drive is moderate, she is a total mute when hunting and at home she isn’t vocal (unless someone knocks at the door) her loyalty is flawless and she wasn’t difficult to train. The sire is a dog I know well and was chosen again as they produced a great litter of well balanced pups whom went on to pet and working homes. He is a kind natured dog who fiercely adores his owner, he is a working dog who also runs alongside a team of gundogs on shoot days. The aim for me is to produce quality healthy pups which are switched off around the home but physically capable of plenty of exercise and want to please you (not just themselves) The pups are raised in a busy household with children and other dogs, they will be ready to leave us at 8 weeks old and will be microchipped, vet health checked, kc registered, wormed and fleas routinely and have had 1st vaccination. They are weaned onto a quality raw diet and will move onto a quality kibble before they leave and you will receive a puppy pack with the food. Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
