Description
Two beautiful horses seeking a loving new home.
Due to a big family move to Italy, we are sadly looking for the perfect new home for our two much-loved horses. This decision has not come lightly, both boys are deeply special to me and deserve the best care and companionship as they continue their journey.
Irish Thoroughbred (ex-racehorse)
Lorenzo is a stunning gelding, who has come so far since retiring from racing. When he first came to me. he found adjusting to a quieter life difficult, struggling to understand his new routine and environment. Over time, with a calm, consistent approach and lots of love, he’s developed an incredible bond with me. We now share a deep trust, so much so that I ride him bareback and bitless, and he listens beautifully. I found that he has a fear for the arena (understandably), and have kept schooling within the arena short and sweet, to encourage a positive understanding of what is expected / not expected of him. I have also chosen to ride him bit-less, even with tack. I found that this has aided with his trust in me, and is my personal preference.
He’s still a sensitive soul and can spook, especially in the schooling arena which he finds quite daunting. He’ll need a home with someone who understands ex-racehorses and can offer him the patience and reassurance he needs. With the right person, he has amazing potential and so much more to give. His loyalty and willingness to trust are truly heartwarming once a bond is formed.
Dartmoor pony (2 year old young gelding)
My Dartmoor gelding, Rocco, is a sweet, curious and people-loving pony with a bright future ahead. Although still young, he is beautifully responsive to groundwork, happy to be led and backed up, and is already learning to lunge well. He absolutely adores people and will come straight over the moment he sees me. He’s not just a pony, he has been my companion, and is happiest just hanging out and being around his human.
With gentle, consistent handling, he’s going to make an absolutely fantastic pony for someone who wants a real connection with their horse from the start.
Both horses mean the world to me, and it’s incredibly important they go to homes where they will be loved, understood, and never rushed. They’ve each got huge hearts and so much potential in the right hands.
Please only message if you are understanding that they will both need lots of schooling, and Rocco will not be ready to start backing for some time to come.
Both up-to-date with injections and worming. Lorenzo has recently had his dentist appointment, and both regularly trimmed by the farrier.
Thank you
