💔 Background / Surrender Circumstances
Max was taken on through a private rehoming and has been in the home for just four days. During this time, he snapped near the face of a young child in a play, described as “Not bitten but mouthed at face “ , which frightened the child. He did not bite, but the incident has made the home unsuitable for him. The family has contacted multiple rescues, all of whom were unable to help. They cannot keep Max any longer, and urgent rescue placement is required. This situation reflects poor management and lack of settling time.
🐶 Max is currently at Foster with 2 other dogs but he takes time to get used to them. Trust people quicker then need dogs. He is used to live in a house with a garden and is used to sleeping upstairs in the bedroom. He is fully housetrained, eats dry and wet food, and enjoys chews, squeaky toys, and tug games.
🐶 Max has two long walks a day. He knows basic training and is described as a little shy at first, but he warms up when handled kindly. He has shown some early signs of separation anxiety, which may improve once he settles into a stable routine.
🐶 He is not reactive on walks, but like many teenagers’ dogs, he can be mouthy and impulsive, especially when overwhelmed.
🏡 Ideal Foster / Home
🐶 Max needs an experienced, loving home, without young children. He would suit adults or families with older, dog-savvy children who understand teenage dog behaviour. He will benefit from continued training, clear boundaries, and patience. With the right guidance, Max has every chance to mature into a well-balanced companion.
🩺 Health Information
Max is neutered and microchipped. Vaccination status is currently unknown; vet records are available. He has no known medical conditions.
💞 Max has not failed anyone.
He is a young dog who has been moved too fast, expected too much of, and now urgently needs someone to step in.
