Description

Ossie is a beautiful tri-coloured 6 year old Cavachon who has been in our family since he was a puppy. We have two other Cavachon's that are slightly older than him and he fits well in to the pack. Unfortunately and much to our sadness we are looking to re-home Ossie as he needs far more human attention and focus than we can give him and what the other two dogs require. Good bits: Ossie is a very loving dog, he adores human attention and affection and enjoys nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa in the evening. He is wonderfully gentle with our young children and builds very strong relationship with other humans very quickly. He is good with dogs he knows very well. He is fun, friendly and extremely domesticated. He is house trained and doesn't have accidents indoors. Everyone who meets him always comments on his good looks and loving tendencies. Ossie is neutured, wormed, flea treated, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped and regularly groomed. He has a great appetite and currently eats Harrington's Salmon biscuits which are reasonably priced. Bad bits: Ossie is a challenge to walk on a lead in public areas. He will bark at other dogs, whatever their size or character. I believe this comes from anxiety and a lack of training whereby he feels he has to protect us. He is quite needy in terms of attention, he will cry when left alone initially but will settle down quickly with the radio on. He will be beyond excited when you return home which can sometimes be overwhelming and intrusive. He has good general health and is very energetic but does suffer from itchy skin which we treat with tablets not covered by his insurance policy. We are looking for Ossie to find the perfect new home and will not let him go without being 100% sure that it is the right fit for the new owner/s and for him. We feel that he would make a perfect companion for someone who is at home a lot if they don't have othe dogs and has plenty of time to focus on him and potentially train him to be better disciplined on a lead etc. If the new owner/s have dogs, there would need to be a well-controlled introduction and integration process of which I am sure he would soon settle in too as he has often stayed with family who have dogs in the past. We are being brutally honest here as I do not want to make a sale to someone who does not understand all the facts. The price is negotiable, I am only entering one here as this is the process. This is not about money for us, it's about what's right for Ossie.
