With a heavy heart I have finally come to the conclusion to rehome the majority of my fish in my largest tank (tank is not for sale).
Fish I have decided to rehome as follows:
3x Oscars [£15ea, or all 3 for £35]
2x Frontosas [£30 for larger one, £15 for smaller one or £40 for both]
3x Parrots [£20ea or all 3 for £50]
The parrots I have had for around 3 or 4 years. The oscars and frontosas I have had for around a year and a half.
The parrots regularly lay infertile eggs and as a result then bully all other fish in the tank, when needlessly protecting said eggs. This is stressing out the oscars and frontosas greatly. I think the parrots would do better in a species only setup (dont even think about wanting plants or level substrate with them though!)
The oscars and frontosas are peaceful and very friendly. Will happily eat from your hand and ignore you during maintenance.
My main reason for rehoming the oscars and frontosas is, I have been ill a few times lately and found that even skipping one week of maintenance makes a drastic difference to their mood, which is sad. I do one water change of around 40-50% each week, due to the inability to have plants I do let the algae grow and only scrape the glass once a fortnight as find it helps keep nitrates under control.
I am looking at rescaping my tank to a high tech planted community tank with angels and tetras (i have other tanks but this is the only hardscaped environment).
I care greatly about these guys, money is negotiable if a good home is offered. Will also accept swaps if suitable for my other tanks, or the new scape im looking into.
