🌸 Meet Lilly – 6-Year-Old Cockapoo
📍 Fostered in Gloucestershire
⚠️ Please Read Before Applying for Lilly then apply via our website.
Lilly is a gentle little Cockapoo who has known love all her life, but sadly her world was turned upside down after her owner moved house and work commitments meant she was being left for long hours — sometimes over 10 hours a day.
She became increasingly unhappy, and with great sadness her owner made the kind decision to let Lilly find a home where her needs could truly be met.
💛 Personality & Nature
Lilly is a sensitive soul. She can be very timid when meeting new people and needed a few days before she felt safe with her foster carers. But once she bonds, she transforms into the most loyal, affectionate little cuddle bug who adores being by your side. With her foster mum, she has become a constant companion and a devoted little shadow.
She is still a little shy with men, but trust is slowly building — she even enjoys sitting on her foster dad’s lap in the car. The way to her heart, without doubt, is her ball 🎾 … Lilly is obsessed with fetch and would happily play all day if you let her!
🐾 Life at Home & With Others
House-trained and clean indoors
Sleeps happily on the bed with her foster carer
Travels well in the car
Loves her walks and has enjoyed off-lead time with excellent recall
Lilly has had visiting dogs in the home with no issues at all, but she simply isn’t interested in them — she prefers her own company and would much rather spend time with her people.
Out on walks she is the same, polite but indifferent. Because of this, we feel she would be happiest as an only dog where she can soak up all the love.
She has met visiting children and family members — she’s polite, just prefers to ignore them. We believe her previous quiet life, with little socialising outside her two-lady household, has shaped this side of her.
🌿 Challenges & Sensitivities
Lilly is extremely nervous when it comes to handling in certain situations. A recent incident when she had something stuck in her fur left her very frightened and reluctant to let anyone help her. We know that vet visits and grooming are stressful for her, but with gentle, patient handling she does cope. This is part of who she is, and something her forever family will need to accept and work with.
✨ The Home Lilly Needs
Lilly is not the sort of dog who will come running into your arms at first meeting.
She will likely stick close to her foster mum and quietly watch you, but she may well be persuaded into a game of ball! For this reason, we would love her to find a local home, or a family willing to visit a few times, so she can build trust at her own pace.

A calm, adult household (no busy family homes)
Someone home most of the time
An active person or couple who will give her the walks and adventures she loves
Experienced with rescue dogs, and understanding of giving a sensitive dog the space and time to blossom
If in a couple, a man who is willing to take things slowly, knowing Lilly’s bond will come in time
💖 In Return…
