Once upon a perch, in a humble home filled with love, millet, and the soothing sounds of YouTube bird documentaries, a charming young gent named Fifi checked in for a 3-week vacation stay. He was only supposed to be a guest. You know, just crash on the perch, nibble a few seeds, enjoy a spa day in the sun by the window.
Then he met Luna.
It was love at first chirp. Suddenly, Fifi wasn't going anywhere. We couldn't break up what the bird gods had clearly approved with fluffed feathers and synchronized squawks. And so, Fifi & Luna became inseparable, like peanut butter and jelly... but, you know, bird-safe versions.
About the Couple:
Fifi is a semi-tamed, chill, slightly mysterious gentleman born somewhere in the first half of 2024. He eats from your hand like a polite guest at a seed buffet and enjoys perching on high places like a tiny sentry watching over his queen.
Luna, born on 07/12/2024 (yes, she's a Sagittarius. Explains a lot), is hand-reared and lives for human interaction. Want a bird that climbs on your head, eats on your hand, and grooms your hair like it's her side hustle? That's our girl.
She's got sass, class, and a full-time obsession with accessories. Watches, rings, wristbands etc. basically, if it jingles or sparkles, Luna considers it a toy and/or treasure.
And speaking of hobbies... Luna has a passion for interior design.
Specifically, she loves when you hold colourful paper in your hand like a fancy butler, so she can shred it into tiny confetti strips, tuck them under her feathers, and pretend she's building the imaginary dream nest of the future. This isn't just cute--it's her self-imposed training for becoming a master architect of cosy paper castles one day. It's essential, it's serious, and it's absolutely hilarious to watch.
Dining Preferences:
But don't mistake their cuteness for simplicity. These two have gourmet tastes:
Grated carrot
Grated boiled egg
Lightly steamed broccoli (cooled to room temp like a true royal feast)
Baby corn and sugar snap peas (that's pea, not sugar--they're health-conscious, remember?)
Seeds? Only if they've eaten their veg like responsible lovebirds. These two know liver health is no joke.
Sleeping Arrangements:
Luna: coconut shell hammock suite, positioned for maximum sunset views.
Fifi: rooftop security detail, stationed just above to guard her dreams from, well, dust motes and suspicious curtains.
We tried caging Luna once. ONCE.
She gave us the cold shoulder for a week. Wouldn't eat from our hand. Refused head cuddles. Stared at us like we betrayed her trust and possibly her whole bloodline.
So, no cage for Luna--ever--unless it's the end of the world (and even then, good luck).
