Hi there, I’m Zoe, founder of the well known Zoe Saunders Unique Stud & Pups. I am very proud and feel incredibly grateful to have been personally selected by Channel 5 to participate in their popular TV show Rich Holiday, Poor Holiday. The work Ive poured my heart and soul into has not only been recognised by the shows team, but also by people around the world through my social media platforms which makes this moment even more special. The episode was an amazing success.
Lets talk about health…. Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) is the leading cause of death in dachshunds, yet many stud dog owners and breeders avoid testing for it due to the cost and the lengthy process involved. Instead, they often present the public with a range of inexpensive and straightforward DNA tests. While these tests can be useful, they are not definitive and are far easier to carry out, which can create a misleading impression of thorough health screening.
In January 2025, The Kennel Club launched a new health and welfare standard for the breed which provides clear guidance on relevant testing based on evidence in breed health and conservation plans. For mini smooths and mini longs GOOD PRACTICE requires IVDD Screening at a minimum and BEST PRACTICE requires additional BVA Eye and PRA Cord 1 eye testing. I do all of these on top of the simple DNA tests so fully inclusive. (All dogs are OI, DM, PRA, BVA tested clear and IVDD screened from 2 years of age)
For the first time, I am opening my elite team of miniature dachshund stud dogs to the public for 12 months ONLY and this selection of 12 stud dogs is available through me. Until now, these exceptional boys have been reserved exclusively for my own breeding program and a small circle of private clients. Each dog has been carefully selected for outstanding structure, temperament, and true-to-type dachshund conformation, and all are extensively health tested well beyond standard requirements ensuring not only beauty but long term health and soundness.
These dogs represent 30 years of thoughtful planning, investment and dedication to responsible, ethical breeding, I have not just brought them in from other people or other countries, I actually KNOW the back breeding and health of all the dogs in this line and know them to be of the upmost health. I have always bred for myself first, prioritizing health, longevity, and correct type and that same philosophy guides me through everything I do. I am now choosing to make these studs publicly available with one goal in mind, to help elevate and strengthen the miniature dachshund community here in the UK by offering access to high quality, proven, health-tested stud dogs, so breeders in the UK can produce better looking, healthier dogs for generations to come.
This is not a decision I have taken lightly. These dogs are the foundation of my present program and by opening them to the public reflects my commitment to contributing positively to the breed rather than keeping these genetics limited to my own kennel.
