💔 Rescue Story
Millie’s family genuinely tried to make things work. She lived with many small dogs around her, and despite being loving with people, her strong herding instincts created tension. She fixated on certain dogs, becoming bossy and overwhelming dor everyone.. Concerned for the wellbeing of all dogs in the home — including Millie — the family made the responsible decision to ask for help.
🐾 More About Millie
Millie is the very definition of a young, bright Border Collie: razor-smart, energetic, deeply bonded to humans, and happiest when she has a job to do. With people she is incredibly affectionate — a soft, loving girl who thrives on connection. She loves fetch, adores her ball, and will play until your arm drops. Her recall is excellent, her understanding of commands is impressive, and she learns new things with lightning speed.
Out on walks she sometimes pulls when excited, especially if unleashed first, but she is not reactive to people or other dogs passing by. Her struggle is specifically with sharing her own home space with multiple dogs — she becomes intense, fixated, and tries to control the dynamics. In the right home, with structure and consistency, she will absolutely blossom.
She sleeps downstairs, is used to a home with a garden, has no separation anxiety, settles when left, and is generally well-mannered inside the house. She does have minor food-guarding tendencies, nothing unusual for a young energetic collie, and something easily improved with calm guidance and routine.
🏡 Ideal Family
Millie will thrive in a structured home, a family who knows and loves the collie mind — quick, sensitive, enthusiastic — would be perfect for her. She needs people who enjoy walks, training games, and mental stimulation, but also understand that a young collie cannot flourish in chaos or constant noise. Older, gentle, dog-savvy children suit her well, and a garden for play and fetch will make her happiest. With patience, clear boundaries, and kindness, Millie will settle beautifully; she is a dog who repays care with devotion, and one who will flourish the moment she feels understood.
