This is Caesar. He has been a part of our family since he was 10 weeks old. He came from a breeder and was seen with mum. His dad comes from a line of champion show dogs. Both parents were fully healthy tested. Caesar is still intact.
He is microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations and flea and worming treatments.
Caesar is the most lovable dog, he craves attention and affection and would be happier laying having cuddles than playing his favourite tug of war. He has been my little shadow since the day we bought him home. He is fully house trained and can be left uncrated safely while we are out. He sleeps well at night. He can obey basic commands and is very keen to learn new things and please.
We absolutely adore the bones of this dog and writing this is excruciating.
Caesar has a history of acute pancreatitis caused by a foreign object blockage, he stupidly ate the stuffing from his bed so he is not allowed any soft toys as he will shred them. He has very sensitive guts and has been tried on SO many foods and the only one that agrees with him and doesn't cause weight loss issues is wainwright's puppy salmon kibble. He cannot have chicken as this aggravates his ears and causes yeast infections which he is prone to, but we've found thornit powder works wonders for this. He currently has a few hot spots that we are treating with hibiwash and antiseptic spray and they are slowly getting better.
Now for the issues and need for urgent rehoming.
Caesar recently had a fight with an unleashed cane Corso that came into our garden, he went full protective mode and rightly so. however, this flipped a switch in him. He's gone from a dopey puppy to a dog with aggression. He became snappy and jittery, doesn't listen, walking on the lead is impossible, and he is extremely reactive to dogs, and unfortunately things took a drastic turn when he bit my 6 year old son on the face resulting in my son needing surgery to repair his lip. This has completely shocked us to the core as we never in a million years expected this to happen. They were the best of friends and loved having cuddles. We fully understand that with time, dedication and training with a behaviourist he can become the great dog we know he can be but we cannot have him around our 3 children anymore.
It is absolutely cutting us up because we love him so much but our human babies come first and for Caesars sake he would be better going to someone who can love him, shower him with affection and give him the time and training he now needs.
As much as we need an urgent new home for our fur baby we will not allow him to go to just anyone.
He must go to a household with
• NO CHILDREN
• NO OTHER PETS
• MUST HAVE ROTTWEILER EXPERIENCE
• MUST ENROLL HIM WITH A BEHAVOURIST IMMEDIATELY
