Description
Bear is a lovely young Labrador who deserves a home where he can thrive and get all the love, attention and time he deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and one that hasnāt been made lightly, but we feel it is the fairest thing for Bear and our family.
Bear is a really lovely boy with a great temperament. He is fantastic with children, very sociable and friendly with absolutely everyone he meets. He is not a nervous dog and is confident around new people. He is also great with other dogs and enjoys being around them. He has had some gundog training and is generally a very well-trained dog. He is fully toilet trained and sleeps happily in his crate at night. He still uses a pen during the day as we havenāt been brave enough to let him out when he is home alone really. However, when we have been upstairs sorting out little boy out for example he is left in the living room and is fine. He has never shown any signs of chewing sofaās, cushions, skirting boards, doors etc which we have been really lucky with. Like any young Labrador, he can still be a little cheeky at times, heās very food driven and has a tendency to pinch human food if he gets the chance and can pull on the lead occasionally, however we have now been using a over the nose lead which has worked wonders, he has so much potential and is a wonderful dog.
Bear is currently 9 months old and weighs 35kg, so he is going to be a big boy when fully grown!
We bought Bear from a reputable breeder who we remain in contact with, and we also keep in touch with people who have his siblings. His parents come from Kennel Club bloodlines, although Bear himself is not Kennel Club registered. His mum is a show Labrador and his dad is a working Labrador.
Bear is regularly flead and wormed through the Pet Health Club and is microchipped. He has not been castrated.
Unfortunately, our family circumstances mean we need to consider finding Bear a new home. Since having Bear, we have found that having a large, energetic puppy in the house has been difficult for our young son, who struggles with the overstimulation. Our son is also beginning to display aggressive behaviour towards Bear because he struggles to cope with him. This is absolutely no fault of Bearās, and he is not being rehomed because he is a bad dog. He is a lovely boy, and we want to do what is best for everyone, especially him.
Bear needs a home where he will have plenty of time, attention and interaction. He is an active, intelligent young Labrador who needs regular exercise, mental stimulation and enrichment to keep him happy and fulfilled. He absolutely loves his walks and would thrive with someone who enjoys getting outdoors and involving him in their daily activities. Bear would not be suited to a home where he would routinely be left alone for 8 hours a day, as he needs companionship, stimulation and engagement.
We want to find Bear a loving, responsible home that understands the Labrador breed and can give him the time, exercise, training and affection he needs. Finding the right home is our absolute priority, and he will not simply be going to anyone. We want to take the time to get to know potential owners and make sure it is the right fit for Bear and his new family.
Bearās crate, puppy pen, leads, toys, treats and remaining food can all go with him to help him settle into his new home.
This decision has been heartbreaking, and we only want the very best for Bear. He is a much-loved boy, and we want him to have the happy, fulfilling life he deserves with a family who can meet his needs. Please get in touch if you genuinely feel you could offer him the loving forever home he deservesā¤ļø
