We are heartbreakingly needing to seek a new home for our boy Otis. He is a 3 year old chocolate roan cocker spaniel who has also sired 2 litters.
We have owned Otis since he was 8 weeks old hence such a sad sale. The decision hasn't been made lightly but unfortunately due to his resource guarding becoming more prominent, its resulting in him no longer accepting our female dog that he has grown up with and becoming aggressive with her more frequently.
We have seeked vetinary help, who performed blood tests which were all clear, so they have no reason to believe it is health related, so advised rehoming as the next option. He most definitely needs to be in a home as an only dog, and he is constantly on the go so needs somewhere for plenty of chance to roam and play as he is very toy driven.
He has grown up in a household with a child, cats and dogs. He shows no aggression towards cats he is happy living alongside them, children however I would advise them being older so they give him his space and are able to understand resource guarding.
He is good off lead, however he does chase birds that land on the ground infront of him.
He is a very soppy bugger who loves the fuss, he is such an amazing dog, but he switches on our other dog and its at very unpredictable times so its so difficult to manage.
Please only enquire if you feel you would be able to meet Otis's needs as we just want both our dogs to be happy, but currently they are both getting distressed.
