Sometimes the best laid plans do not work 🥺
Rusty has been in a shelter for years and no-one wanted him - he’s a medium size black and tan old boy.
We agreed to help.
He travelled here last week, after a month of talking to the foster mum in the chat that was set up for her. When she got Rusty home from the Transport van, he peed and pooed on her carpet.
She put him in the garden and didn’t let him back in the house saying that he’d be happier out there because that’s what he’s come from. 💔
He was expected to go in the shed to live, he found a compost heap and slept by that, probably for the warmth.
She left him in the garden for a few days after a phone call promising to bring him into the house and cover the room with puppy pads. She didn’t let him in the house so we picked him up.
It took two volunteers 4 hours each driving on Sunday to get him safe.
He desperately needs a home where he can settle as it’s been very stressful for him moving. 💔
Since being safe inside, he's been clean in his bed (most dogs are) so toilet training should not be a problem.
He was friendly in kennels. He is currently totally confused and overwhelmed. He will recover.
