Description

Max is a loveable African Grey. I do possess current up to date CITES permits. Max was 24 this June. He originally came from a very bad home ...he has disabled feet ...shown in the photos- and was used for indiscriminate breeding. YES !!!! Max HAS been to an avian specialist...who advised against surgery due to his age .... When I first rescued him he was badly feather plucked ...even his head because potential mates had attacked him. I will NOT sell Max for breeding purposes. Potential bad breeders are very obvious so , with respect, I will NOT sell to certain ethnic groups. Im sorry if that offends but I love Max too much to set him in trauma for the sake of a sale. Max does NOT talk. If you want a talking bird that is NOT the reason to buy a bird. He was too badly traumatised in his previous home. However, he does whistle certain things or when he is extremely happy...such as when I return home or come back into the living room. If I get a hint that anyone is trying to purchase him for breeding purposes....the sale WILL be cancelled. Max also does NOT live in a cage. He spends his days and nights on top of a cage that I adapted to suit his feet. I did ask my vet about an operation to correct his feet ...but because of his age the avian expert advised against. He just wants love. I have spent the last 7 years helping to rebuild his trust in humans. He let's me kiss the top of his head and stroke his beak. I refuse to bundle him up in a towel to stroke him ...that would add more trauma to him. He knows he can trust me .... I am ONLY looking to rehome him because of our upcoming move abroad...I feel that 3 days travel in a car may be more than he can cope with ... Max is not a " perfect " bird ...whatever that means. If you are looking for an all singing all dancing bird ....Max is not for you .. Max is ONLY for you if a bird with physical limitations, an unpredictable nature - due to previous human ill treatment....is your idea of happiness in feathers xxxx Max will be sold with his adapted cage / stand. The frame does NOT dismantle as it's too old. Make sure you have a suitable vehicle. Also 2 pet carriers are included.
