Description
Max is a loveable African Grey.
I do possess some paperwork for him from his original rescue.
Max is 25 this June.
He originally came from a very bad home ...he has disabled feet ...shown in the photos- and was used for indiscriminate breeding.
When I first rescued him he was badly feather plucked ...even his head because potential mates had attacked him.
I will NOT sell Max for breeding purposes.
Max does NOT talk.
He was too badly traumatised in his previous home.
How, he does whistle certain things or when he is extremely happy...such as when I return home or come back into the living room.
If I get a hint that anyone is trying to purchase him for breeding purposes....the sale WILL be cancelled.
Max also does NOT live in a cage.
He sounds his days and nights on top of a cage that I adapted to suit his feet.
I did ask my vet about an operation to correct his feet ...but because of his age the avian expert advised against.
He just wants love.
I have spent the last 7 years helping to rebuild his trust in humans.
He let's me kiss the top of his head and stroke his beak.
I refuse to bundle him up in a towel to stroke him ...that would add more trauma to him.
He knows he can trust me ....
I am ONLY looking to rehome him because of our upcoming move abroad...I feel that 3 days travel in a car may be more than he can cope with ...
Max is not a " perfect " bird ...whatever that means.
If you are looking for an all singing all dancing bird ....Max is not for you ..
