Description

Alice is a beautiful, playful and energetic little girl. Due to very sad and unforeseen circumstances I have made the most difficult decision to rehome her. She is great with kids but can be nippy playing. There is no malice in her whatsoever, it’s just puppy behaviour. She is fantastic with other dogs at the park off lead. Comes back when she’s called. She just wants to play with every dog she meets. I think she would love a home with another dog to play with, particularly a small to medium size dog. She will chase cats. No homes with cats or small animals please. This wouldn’t be suitable at all. Alice can be nervous when meeting new people, she will bark and retreat. She is very wary of men, she seems to be scared of them, I don’t know why. Some men she likes, others she is scared of. This must be considered sympathetically. She sleeps in the livingroom at night and has puppy pads down. The back door is open all day so she is busy in and out. She loves her paddling pool and will spend ages trying to catch bugs! She is fine on her extendable lead but doesn’t stick to one side but she’s energetic and keen to sniff everything and anything. She’s very nosey! Alice suffers from car sickness which is something she can’t help. Even on short journeys. She hates travelling for this reason. Other than going to puppy school, I always walk her from home. The vet said she may grow out of this. She has been my little best friend so any questions, please ask. I will always answer honestly. I’d love for her to go to a home where she’ll be loved, looked after and happy forever. Alice has not yet had her first season. Up to date with vaccs, flea & worm treatment, microchipped.

Extremely affectionate and loyal little dogs
Very intelligent Dachshunds learn quickly and know how to please
Fun-loving and playful by nature
Energetic and feisty Dachshunds like to be kept entertained

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
