Ruby is a purebred Rhode Island Red hen.
She was hatched at our home here in Edinburgh and is very friendly.
She would be an ideal mate for a hen who is no longer laying as she is an egg eater! However she has never eaten her own eggs.
She lays almost daily throughout spring and summer. She is currently moulting so not looking her best.
She will come running when you shake a pot of corn and call her name.
